Been here since 6am , was expecting at least a few boats downstream on the tide to go to the boat race ....
So far ( 7.30am ) ....... nothing ......
Have you all had a lie in ? I put my new shirt on as well ....

Working in Terminal Four, very glad we have not moved to Terminal Five yet....
Laughing at the managers who have got it all so wrong.
(Boat Race not until 17.30, so perhaps they are all having a lie-in?)

Yeah , i knew it was a late start , but with the tide being so early i figured that people would head down on the tide , sort out a mooring and make a day of it ....
LW is around lunchtime , so any boats of any size heading down around that time might struggle with Syon Reach ... I suppose they could go down on the rising tide this afternoon , but it wouldn't leave much time to get organised ...
Or alternatively, you may be right , everyone had a good feed of booze last night and is laying low !!

Well it's a bit far for me today. But I am still hoping to come and see you in early May on my way to visit Byron's rally. Will be coming round the coast fom Poole, have been putting a passage plan together and will hopefully be at Teddington about 4/5th May, then leisurely run up to South Stoke.
Have kept boats on the Thames so know the river well, but will be my first time in from the sea, having to sort out licenses etc.
Of course, if there's bad weather in the channel I'll not make it.

That's good news that you are still planning on coming to Byron's, I was talking to him last night at the ODCC Fitting Out dinner at Shillingford. We were trying to decide on who can provide any entertainment

We'll be coming down on Friday 11th in the evening, then off at sparrow's on the 12th to head to St Kat's (not looking forward to that though ). Will be about 4 boats I think, as one of the boats has friends in the London marathon so thought it would be a good excuse to head off for a bit of a cruise.
