Selling up. 1940 William Osborne motor boat
      #1821678 - 13/04/2008 00:00

Although it really breaks my heart, I have to sell my boat due to my broken back.

I can't do the maintainance, and I couldn't go out on her if I paid someone to do the maintainance.

She is on ebay as item 300215806516, it breaks my heart.

Please, if you know someone who can look after her in a decent way, let them know.

Thanks,
David

David, sorry to here about your problems,
it's good to see the engine is still running well,
(The decorative bits of wood at the aft end of the gunnels need replacing) yes I never got around to it either
I had many good times on the Rat,Cheers Rich.

ps, is it a coincident you have the same hull colour as Hermees.

Hello Richard,

Well, actually the hull is blue now, but I couldn't find any pictures anywhere so the photos are actually Sean's! Come to think of it - I think I can guess why she was the same colour as Hermees

Please pass my warmest regards on to Sean and his family, and tell him I am sorry for not finishing all the jobs I started. This evening I spoke with the chap who has agreed to buy her and he sounds allright, so the new home will be in Shoreham, an old Ratafia stomping ground.......

I will have to introduce the new chap to this forum so you can keep an eye on progress

All the best,
David

Thanks Mr Cramp, she is a lovely boat. Hopefully the new chap will look after her well and I will end up with a plastic boat that I can keep on top of. (Gosh wood is hard.. )
