What a great bunch we are, helping to keep down the costs of , and up the enjoyment of, our messing about in boats!PS if you come across a book by Arthur Ransome, entitled 'Missy Lee" read it yourself, or if you have little'uns or neices,nephews, grandkids, read it to them, its a really good read. (However,some parts may not now be politically correct, or they may be depending on one's point of view) My copy is lent long term, so I am missing the opportunity to thrill a new generation of kids. Wicked, better than HP.

Yep... I've gradually read the entire series to my kids over the last few years....
They enjoyed Missy Lee, but they also loved Peter Duck as well... in fact, truthfully, they loved all of 'em!

I remember with misty eyed fondness being read Arthur Ransome to, as a kiddiwink.
Wonder if I can get my wife to resurrect that particular bed-time pleasure . . . there are disadvantages in growing up. Not that I ever have.
