AD41. nice big simple lazy low reving reliable lump which will last forever with six pots for unstressed torque.

If your going to sea regularly then Iwould not touch the 31 series engines, ive been to sea in one and it was in perfect order and would hardly plain till it was flat out, choose the 41s if i were you any day.

Depends on the boat.
KAD32's on an S28 (4500kg) work very nicely. AD31 150hp also works well on the same boat.

Well I have twin AD31 (150 hp) in my boat and it goes very well - 25 knots at 3600rpm, and about 30 flat out. I don't know what weight the 310 is, but if it's much over 5 tons I would think they will struggle. (Mine is 4.5 tons dry). Given the choice I would go for the 41s though - much smoother.
