Ok heres one to while away today with. We are getting married soon and although we both have previous careers, we have pretty much spent the last few years cruising about and exploring... well bars mostly. We are due off again for a few years post hurricane season. Thing is, I need to give my profession on the marriage certificate. Now whilst our old 'day jobs' were quite ....interesting, we thought it might be a bit more fun to relate the profession to the way we live our lives now - the trouble is, what do you call yourself? Ok, what do you call yourself that you can actually put on a marriage certificate! Sure you can think of a few suggestions!

Since Profession is a catagory on check-in and out forms in most ports I always put Mariner, seems to cover cruising lifestyle, besides Semi-retired Document and Data Manager (Oil and Gas) doesn't fix the box!

Ok, how about ??
"BolloxtotheWorkAllsadBarsardsTryingtoImproveThemselvesOnaNonExistentPropertyLadderSadFukwitsAlloftem"
That might work.. ??
Just a suggestion............... Just, fer gawd sake, and indeed Alah... don't PUT 'accountant'
They REALLY are so sad as to want to watch paint dry...
Anyone who is in this way of life that harks back to their previous dubious way of fleecing you all is totally a wankstain on the map of their se f acclaimed society.. ok, SOME are vewwwwy noce personas.. but, what the sensible ones do is NOT harp on that they ARE one.. they USED to be.. now they are better, more rounded, more relaxed, more at tune with the world.. (Probably alcoholics, but hey ??)
Just DONT quote the old life as what you are NOW.. otherwise you are still a full sandwich short of the picnic... trying to outdo the Jones yet again by being 'HIP" and 'Funky"
You ARE what you are now..
For me ??
Ok, well lets put it into perspective..
Loadsa Money in a previous life .. great size WAD o Dosh.. Now ??.. well, I am more in tune with my tightarse self....
And the would be opted-out professionals.. they can go and boil there sad heads and still steal off to Starbucks in their 4*4 chelsea tractor or land tank sitting in an insecure marriage wondering why the 'kids' in designer clothing dont bring them total happiness..
I mean.. it SAID so in Cosmo... gotta be sooooo true....
When the revolution comes brother, they WILL be the first against the wall..
Along with LAWERS.. and other money grabbing SOB's....
AND 'advertising executives', hairdressers. cafe owners and 'I sold my house for a fortune so now I am gonna be a cool dude types.. where can I hire crew ??"
Pramfaces (Or parents of such)
blackened hair pulled back into a bun (Council house facelift)
People who LIVE in Ibeza.... pop a throatfull of E's and get various STD's?
Nurse, me steady pills.. they are at it again... mohahahaha

LOL Phew! relief that in life you can still rely on some things! - was getting bit worried by the silence. Pills on the way. Dont think that option would fit in the space though. Although it might be worth a try.........

Usually when asked "And what do you 'do'" I reply, 'what I'm told'! However in this instance the good old, tried and tested 'Man of leisure' would suffice

when travelling through asia some twenty years ago, it seemed every hotel we stopped at required a myriad of information, including profession to be logged. I invariably noted mine as "urban terrorist" which probably wouldn't be very sensible nowadays, but a friends choice of 'dolphin trainer' might be suitable, given the amount of hours they spend splashing around our boats when on passage.
