I never thought it was viable anyway, it would silt up extremely quickly.

I wonder whether this will affect the proposed Goodwick marina - same developers

That's interesting as Dickies of Bangor (opposite shore of Straits) have been reported as selling up to Watkin-Jones Developments ltd who plan to turn Dickies' current yard into a housing development. Dickies are planning to move to Penrhyn Dock. There has been a long running plan to put a marina into the bay between Dickies' current site & Penrhyn Dock but it is a large area of mudflats with a great many waders, ducks etc.

The Mussel fishers "plant" seed mussels in the area and then resow them in the faster flowing channel where they grow to maturity quickly due to vast amounts of food in the tidal sluice. It is almost a farming process.

There is a demand for Marina berths in the area (not from me I hasten to add) as there are waiting lists in most if not all of existing ones. Worth watching this one.

Doesn't look like Crown Estates, the Council or the developer is ready to give up just yet. I wonder how many £££ would be needed to buy the Mussel folk off.... Likely that'll be the next thing they'll try IMO.
