Winter is over, the new season has started. Cannot concentrate on my job, cannot show interest in normal conversations with my non-sailing friends. Always thinking about my to-do-lists and all the little projects, planning next weekend and holiday sailing adventures. I'm dreaming boat at night, thinking boat first thing in the morning... Is this serious? Do I need to see someone?

Oh Dear!.........you need help my son! ......I would prescribe a good dose of sailing, until you do this, I fear that you will be nothing but a shadow of your former self.
Yours in deepest sympathy etc.

It's not an addiction in your case as you seem to leave the boat alone during the winter months............
Shame on you.

no, that sounds perfectly normal. I'm particularly irritable as the jobs took longer, so my boat's still in the yard. Should get them all finished next weekend.

I brought mine home to a barn three minutes walk from the house, and see it almost every night? Is that a bad thing?

I`m obsessed with my boat according to my wife,i work on it all winter, and sail most days/evenings the rest of the time, when i`m not on it i`m thinking about it,she hates the thing, no accounting for taste, thats why shes with me apparently.

I'm afraid winter is "same, same but different", LittleShip. Winters are usually to cold to do major outside jobs here in Norway. Of course she's being looked well after during winter! On the other hand; winter means hours and hours in front of my PC, surfing Noonsite, yachting forums, Google Earth etc. dreaming about the Blue Waters. To much money spent on magazines and books. Never ending story...! As for now, only one hour until I can leave for three days sailing therapi on the swedish west cost

I spend all week looking out of the window at the sunshine, only to find it rains at the weekend.

I know the feeling, purposely and unneccesarily drive past the Harbour to check it's on its mooring, every time I go into town; SWMBO & no 2 dauigter consider it an obsession.
