Not too sure about WIFI but you may find some information on the Cruising Wiki that may be useful - Kefalonia
Good luck.

There are no good marinas in Ceffalonia. In all ports you will have to rely on your own anchor to moor bows/stern to the quay, with the consequent risk that when other boats depart they may lift your anchor . . .
And this is normal throughout the Ionian with the exception of Gouvia (Corfu), Preveza (alongside in the 'marina'), Levkas town (big new marina), Vliho Bay (alongside).
My website describes the area (among others) in some detail.

Thanks
We think we will go for Argostoli as there may be a few Cyber Cafes or Hotels there. Also if there is 3G then this is the most likely destination.

If you're going the Internet Cafe route, I can advise that on Cephalonia we found good Internet Cafes near the harbour in Argostoli and on the east coast at Sami (probably best one) whilst Ay Eufemia and Fiskardho had moderate ones (info good in Sept 2007)

Don't consider using Argostoli marina, unless there's been a major structural change to the northern quay. In the regular northerly winds there was a major (and dangerous) surge affecting most of the quays since the north 'Pier' was just that, supported on piles which let the waves through. A few locals tuck in in one corner, with moorings holding them well clear of the shore hardware. No facilities . . . that was 2006.
Any change and I'd like to know to correct my site . . .
You'll need to use the town quay. Fine, but on your own anchor. Nice town though.

rrees, kefalonia has a friendly local who always helps visiting yachts on the town quay its in the kafe neon 100 metres from the customs office , he has provided internet access , 2 washing machines , 2 showers , water on the quay , and if he has time he will even help you tie up ! his names leon . and if i see you turn up i will help you tie up too ! there is a free marina (unfinished ) opposite the town quay where i moor . there can be a swell in town but tuck up tight to the customs office and its minimal. argostoli is a pretty town full of local life and some really good resturants and tavernas . there is a new breakwater /pier being built, presently, 175 metres out across the bay which will provide more shelter and mooring for larger ships , it looks like it will give total protection from the prevailing n/w wind and swell . and this info is based on today ! not 2 years ago ! come and enjoy this spectacular island .

In Argostoli there is a WiFi provider just across the road from the harbour. I cant remember the name but the name will pop up on windoze "available networks" once you are moored up. A walk along the harbour front will find them. They are a travel agent and you can buy tokens for X online minutes. Worked fine last year (August)

The new marina at Sivornata is due to be officially opened in June, rumours abound but the EU grant has not been signed off yet, could be room for 70 yachts. When I am next down there I will post a piccy and try and get an update. Also the tiny harbour at Sami is due to be (officially) opened. There is room for about 6 yachts to tie alongside, this is a very sheltered small harbour used mainly by locals, the hold up is the slipway completion, then a daily rate can be charged.

Grafozz, thanks for up to date information about Argostoli marina. I loved the town, a fine place to pass some time. Just to clear up a couple of points about the marina:
The original framework of the marina was built some time before 1999. Since then, until 2006, yachts were warned by the port police not to use the area for mooring, because the surge during the summer northerlies was dangerous. In spite of this, a few locals used one corner of the harbour, moored well off the quay.
From what you say, something is changing. You mention a new quay being built. Is this designed to shelter the marina, or the main port? I guess that so far, during your stay, either they've filled in the north quay, or sheltered it, or you haven't had any big northerlies, or else you're moored well off the hardware! Have they filled in the northern pier to make it a solid quay? Any sign that they're bringing it into commission? electrics or water? I'd very much appreciate feedback to correct my site . . .

Many thanks. I'll watch out for that one! It would be a useful addition for cruising that coast.

the new marina is actually at pelaghia , svoronata is 300 ft above sea level ... its almost finished and it has electric and water terminals -just like english marinas ! but i have,nt seen it for 2 weeks , i,ll pop down and have a look in the next few days . it was built in a very sheltered place from north and west , now with a rock wall protecting it from the south .it is always calm inside it has been dredged too .

Does that mean this new "marina" is just off the southern tip of Kefalonia's only airport runway?

Rees Id recommend Argostoli for the WiFi (and its not really in the flight path !) If you cant find the Travel Agent I mentioned, ask this chap - he can usually be found hanging around the fish quay !

If it's the turtle that makes scheduled appearances at one of the local quayside tavernas around 7pm every evening, it's a "she", I'm reliably informed, and she's around 25 years old!
