Re Filler - no it was 25 - 30 years ago anyway, so I probably used the dreadful Seelastik that dried and fell out again! Any reasonable modern mastic would do I guess, as long as it is suitable for immersion. Sikaflex is the obvious one that comes to mind.

The filler used Nick was building type flexy filler as used for external double glazing. Seemed to work but needed doing each year! No way can this be done if you have servere structural probs. Mike

Agreed - the structural problems must be sorted first otherwise you will be wasting your time trying to stop the leaks.
