My outboard never did run very well, used to have to keep the choke partly closed to get it to run consistantly. This year however, it ticks over fine, revs freely without the prop on, but will not rev with the prop fitted it just stalls when tyhe revs are increased. Have cleaned the carb carefully and tried to set up as stated in my Clymer manual. In the schematic in Clymer it only shows an idle screw and not the pilot screw, I have 2 brass screws on carb. I found a microfiche on the net and it shows both screws but not where they should go. One is tapered to a fine point and the other is tapered, but not to a fine point, it just finishes. Does anyone jnow which way round these screws shoulg go, I am guessing that the flat ended one would screw up to the throttle valve and act as an idle adjustment???
