Help please, two weeks ago when coming back from Fowey when we were on auto pilot when suddenly we came off course by about 120deg. I checked that no steel objects had been put in the locker next to the sensor part no 545-00-031 but no. After switching off the pilot I watched the pilot heading and found that it was swinging by almost 360 deg and does not stay on course for more than 2 minutes, have removed and looked at sensor but can see no fault. Can anybody help.
Cheers Mark

I had a similar problem with my Autohelm pilot and found that after gently tapping on the fluxgate compass everything was back as it should be ! So I don't know if you have a fluxgate on B&G , if so try tapping !! Good luck .

Also check the Fluxgate wiring connections inside the ACP Course computer as well as the connector into the fluxgate itself. Look for water ingress into the connector terminations and clear and apply a little silicon grease. After this check the cable itself, if you can, with a multimeter.

Thanks for your post , the fluxgate sensor is mounted inside a locker, but will check as you suggest. Cheers Mark
