Just wonderd if any andbody has run a Sealine F37 with KAD44s over a couple of seasons and what kind of fuel consumption they are acchiving. I know that there are so many variables as to make the question a little meaningless, however I seem to average about 60lts per hour at 3200 rpm, cruising 20/22knts. Anybody similar?

Hi there, I have a Fairline Targa 37, on KAD 44's and would say most of our running is at about 24-25 knotts.
Burn is roughly 56 litres per hour. Jas.

Your traga will be completely different to the F37 Jas - lighter boat, on efficient(ish) outdrives vs a heavy fly bridge boat on shafts.
I would expect your 56l/hr to be closer to 80l/hr on the F37

@ 21knts cruise you have calculated 1.6 NM per gal
If working out my range on an F37 with 44s I would work on 1.4 mpg @20 knts
I dont know the F37 intimately but I know the predecessor 350, 1.6 mpg @ cruise speed of 20 knts .........no chance
I think most of us work in mile per gal or litters per mile

We seem to average around 1.2 mpg with KAMD43's cruising around 22-24kn, but we are very heavily loaded. Best we ever got was 1.4 to the gallon. Anyway, at 1.2 mpg it comes out to around 80 l/h like Jez said.

My F37 with KAD 300s returns 1.1mpg at 24/25knots, about 3,600 rpm
It's been pretty consistent over 6 years. KAD 44s should return a little better.
Reckon most of the fuel is turned into soot and is deposited on the transom....

Hi,
What about crusing at lower speeds - say 10 knots. How does this affect fuel consumption and is it better to run on one engine at that speed - assuming a diesel powered cruiser like a Targa 37.
Thanks Jeff
