It's like war of the roses in Newlyn. HM guy came for the money, then came in the boat hiding from a passing trawler. Then the two trawlers next to us, were having a heated discusion. Dont blame them really, we've got two trawlers and us, sandwiched between two finger pontoons. Well done the second trawler, who fitten in the gap, making sure he did not touch us, then went to great effort, knitting his boat to the other trawler.
They dont seem to be against private boats, just the mismanagement of the HM.
Cant blame them really, seems the pontoons were paid for with fishing money.
So even though no ones blaming us, were piggy in the middle. One lot saying welome park anywhere. Fishy men come in later, tired and knackered, with no where to moor. They more blame the pretend fishy boats, that block up pontoons, without really moving.
Tuther information gleand. The fuel tankers are saying, they wont be able to supply private boats after November. So that's two places I've got that from.
So even if you can afford FyouLabour prices. You cant get there anyway.

oh & the dog isn't allowed on the pontoons, no one can say why, other than "'cos its a fishing harbour". Anyway HM saw the dog, hid from a passing boat, and took our £20.
Local fishy boat said will have to disconnect your leccy, saw the glint in his eye & said thats fine, then he remembered he had a splitter.

No Newlyns ok, just been nattering to the fishymen next door. It's the caous with the HM there upset about.
Penzance is so helpfull, it's embarassing. Trying to find a dog friendly place, with facilities for the inferm. How ever, it's still a harbour wall behind lock gates.
Newlyns the only place to be, less happy with getting up at 2am for the gate at Penzance. Then getting to Padstow for around high water. No Newlyns great. just understand, it's a working harbour. If some one needs the lecy to fire up the welder. You watching corry dont wash as excuse.

The HM told me when the pontoons first went in that he was told he could not allow any but fishing vessels on them, due to the terms relating to the finance. The only other berths available would be alongside the over 50ft beamers etc that are too big for the pontoons, so he said he could not expect you lot to moor there, and told the EU money folk to take a hike. I would suggest it's better for you folk to raft up together if need be, rather than with us.

Dogs have long been banned from the port area, it's a food production thing. I expect if you had a word (or not) you could take the dog up the pontoons, turn left at the top and go along to the slip and beach by the inshore lifeboat, or further left over the hill to the big area of waste ground and beach to the south past W. Harvey's shellfish tanks.

The HM type bloke had no interest in the dog rules when he came for the money. Just wanted to stroke him.
Anyway theres a public pay display car park at the end of the pontoon, so all a bit noncence really.
