Looking a bit better with the latest set of model runs..... back to a NE, and between 11 and 17kts..... could be a quick crossing if it stays like that!

If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first?

Trying to be positive - if the wind is SE then I'm glad it's only 3mph - who wants to motor into a F4!?

The last time the Southern North Sea was that colour was just after the last ice age. One from a trip to the Southwest perhaps?

If I remember correctly, that was on last years Oostende crossing, and very enjoyable it was too, though my pics were rubbish in comparison to Jim's. It was so smooth you could see jelly fish well below the surface too

Crikey MMGW came around quick. That pic was taken just after the last ice age on May 23rd 2007. On my way to Oostende funnily enough.

Now looking like it'll be OK on Friday with wind in the right direction and a sensible 12kts or so... but could be a bit breezier (although not scary windy!) for the return trip....

What you mean "right direction"
Looks like Thursday / Friday will be right on the nose or close hauled at best.

You have to be a bit careful with wind direction in Windguru as it allows for land mass influences.....

Oh, and if anyone has any idea what it's going to be like in Oostende itself, please speak up

Note for Louise - this spring's fashion seems to go for mini-skirts with leggings underneah, so yes to both. Also, boots seem to be an all year round item now, so how about a mini, with Musto fleece leggings underneath, the whole "ensemble" rounded off with a nice pair of Dubarrys? I will if she will!

She says she would, but she doesn't have a pair of Dubarry's
and believe me she would too you're talking about the person that sparked off a whole new fashion trend when she was a teenager, Doc Martins, fishnet tights, short cut denim shorts that were very short, and a very feminine top She does like to shock
