....according to THIS talk by Baroness Young last year, that's how much the Environment Agency gets from central government.
So, Eileen, looks like you're getting a pretty miserable share of the pot !
Who do we need to lobby to get you a bigger share?
Reports are that Barbara Young is on her way out but would some representations to Julia Simpson help?

Is she growling at us?

Flooding is a key concern for the agency, and accordingly formed a major part of Baroness Young’s lecture.
Really? Could have fooled me...

The growing risk of flooding to households and businesses is borne out in the growing number of insurance claims made each year, yet only 14 per cent of people in high-risk areas have made any preparations, despite the availability of warning services,
Ah, I see. She wants to remove some the warning services because nobody takes any notice of them

Baroness Young concluded by highlighting the importance of collaborative working – with scientists, funding bodies and local communities
What a load of utter shite this two-faced creature speaks. I'll bet she drives a Toyota Prius as well, looking at all that whitewash...

EA tend to want to protect their floodplain/are you susceptable to flooding? information. They don't let other sites make available this sort of information. As an example see this site http://ononemap.com/ and the flood risk on the right - then have a look at the blog information

That is the big question that nobody seems to know or be giving the answer too .
