We listened on 0693.0 (am radio!) to make sure the wiring was correct, and also on 5505.0 - robotic voice aeronautical weather.
Lots of links to freq's and timings here: http://www.yachtcom.info/

I often listen to John EA7BA on 14156USB from Almeria S.Spain to judge propagation in the early mornings 'tween about 6.30 to 8.30 GMT. From 8.00GMT you can see if you can hear any MM's calling on 14303USB, although you'll be unlikely to hear the controller in S.London
