Our boat was apparently handed over to the Admiralty at the start of the war. Any ideas from the forum on how we can try to trace her history while she was in Naval service?
All ideas welcome as we are keen to fill the gap in her official history.

Isn't there a Dunkirk Little Ships Association? Would they be able to help?

Yes, we are in the Association but the history there misses this bit. I will also ask them but just thought someone on here may have some ideas.

A lot will depend on whether she was actually formallytaken on by the RN in which case there will be records or whether it was just a local arrangement in which case there are unlikely to be any records.
All the wartime stuff is now in the national archives so perhaps contacting the Imperial War Museum would be a start as to where to look, or if you are near Pompey try the RN Museum on the dockyard. Neither will have the records but will probably be able to point you in the right direction.
