BCF Meetup
      #1897280 - 17/06/2008 08:28

On the thread below we suggested a forum meet up at the 'Plough & Harrow' in the Vale. (between Bridgend & Llantwit) if anyone is interested. Not sure on dates but the live music is great on saturday nights.
Best to try and arrange a night with good weather and i think there is a camp site next door.
Edit....Actually the pub might be better in the winter, how about a meeting place where we can sail to that is central?
Flatholm??

Is there anything at Flatholm or would this be a rafted meeting? Either way it sounds good and not too far even from Watchet!!!

Only downfall is the lack of pub.... how about a bar on the beach. BBQs are banned so??

What about Watchet?
Or Bristol? I'm sure our club house "Sabrina" would accomodate us.
Or Cardiff? Better facilities.
Me? I like Watchet, maybe that club on the Quay?

Let's not let the (good) idea of a full forum meet somewhere central distract us from the opportunity for a pint in the Plough and Harrow for those who live close enough. I haven't been to the P&H for years (was it there that they had bar stools in the shape of horses saddles? Bl**dy uncomfortable) but it's only a 20 minute drive away. I wouldn't rule out one of the Cowbridge pubs either if that would work, probably the same sort of distance for me and Lizzy and closer to Rhoose.

The P&H is a smashing pub. I had my first Old Rosie there - which is a cider, not an intimate experience!! Powerful stuff it was too. It went straight to my legs and disolved all my bone marrow.

Count me and Bev in. I may pin my burgee to the car aeriel. I haven't had chance to use it yet.

Take care all,

Lizzy D

Edit...
If anyone interested pm's me i will try and arrange a date with the most folk attending. In fact just e-mail me.
