A couple of years ago some dic was constantly transmitting on 80 in Watchet Marina Without going around snapping off every VHF aerial in the marina until it stops theres not a lot you can do. I know the CG can do a 3 point fix using RDF kit but I dont think its accurate to give you an individual boat in a harbour.

I've heard crews doing this on the service radios at work. They don't realise the PTT button has been activated and broadcast some unsavoury things that would probably get them the sack if they were ever identified, particularly if the pump happens to be returning to station on a Saturday night through a part of town where most of the females are scantily clad!

I can imagine!

Had taxis with radios years ago and the girls wore not a lot on Saturday nights - nearly makes me want to move back to town- only for Saturdays though!

Happy days!

A mate works for a TV company and it is a fairly regular occurance for a visitor to wander off with a radio mike on. You get to hear all the gossip and rather unfortunate wc visits.

Winter is also coming....I started chopping firewood on Saturday

Sailing from St Marys to Dartmouth just over a week ago and heard a French boat with CH16 on. It seemed to last over an hour.

Like most people, we hang ours up on a clip specially for the mic.

Even if we didn't, or if we let it fall or left it on the shelf, it doesn't jam open.

What happens that causes these incidents to occur?
