Calling all Skippers!
      #1905434 - 24/06/2008 11:36

Young fit and agile sailor looking to spend some time sailing yachts without breaking the bank! I have been sailing for ten years, dinghy sail every week and have sailed keelboats inland and coastal. I have RYA Day skipper so basic knowledge of navigation / safety etc.

Other benefits include the ability to make a spot on sarnie at any angle, and although very strong for my size at 5'7" I can be conviniently folded into small bunks! I also possess a rare ability in teenage lads to know when to shut up and listen!

Reply here or PM me if you can help me out. August / September anywhere suits me.

Thanks for reading!

NW Sailor: I'm actually based in Lincolnshire (which isn't a great place for an aspiring sailor) but I'm willing to travel if somebody is planning to be out for a few days at a time. Whereabouts are you, and did you have any particular dates in mind? Cheers!

Lincolnshire ?
TimBob, get in touch soon, have a 21ft Debutante I'm moving to Wells Next Sea from Spalding when final preperations are done. Looking at cruising in company with another forumite who has more experience than I do, but wouldn't mind the company of someone with experience if you're up for it ?
E.mail is in my profile, apologies if it takes some time to get back to you

Hi chaps,

Thank you all for your responses. I can pretty much rule out all of August now, unless it is closer to home (Lincolnshire) and shorter passages / day sails.

Not sure about Sept yes as I think there may be a family holiday on the cards!

Robin

Hi Robin
Got your e.mail and I'll be in touch soon, but it may also help if you mention you're around and what you're after in the East Coast forum (next one down) there's a few in there that might take you on. East Coast Bernie is often after crew and she's within relatively easy travel distance for you. Pop in and say hello, you never know.
Cheers
Dave

Timbob,

What is your current situation for August/ early september. I'm Bristol based and would like to have a wander round the channel (as I am new here) late August. Is this something you might be up for?

Hey Seedog,

August is booked out I'm afraid. Sailing pretty much the first three weeks and have been told firmly that I am to be home for the last week for all the dentist / optician / haircut etc appointments that are largely neglected! (Not to mention a fair bit of household chores I should think).

Not sure about early September. I am being threatened with a family holiday, but as per usual nothing has been booked. Keep looking for other crews and when I know when we're going to be away I will be back to you. I am moving to Bath in late September so I need to get to know the sailing scene there anyway!

All the best,

Robin
