Does anyone know a website where I can view Augusts tidetables for Cornwall and a place I can buy a tidetable booklet for that area?

an almanac, or some of the marinas sometimes have the tide tables on the net. Or call a local harbourmaster.

or buy a copy of Belfield PC software - I think it actually cheaper than an almanac
and its dead easy to use.
also runs on a PDA or mobile phone
see here www.belfieldsoftware.co.uk
