How long can a raw water cooled Volvo 2002 last.Is 20 year a long time .

Welcome to the forum. You would probably do better with this on the PBO site as most of these engines ar fitted to yachts.

Anyway, the answer is probably related to a piece of string because there are so many variables. Small marine diesels usualy die of neglect rather than wear out. But if it is well used, serviced regularly and the waterways kept clear of salt build up then 20 years is not a long time.
