. . . to add to my collection of lonely anchorages:

This one, by comparison, was positively crowded:

That second one looks like Stickle Tarn. Don't know how they got the boats up there though.

I remember this one (the bottom photo), somewhere on the bottom are the four anchors that a yacht managed to drag during a summer gale. Well done to the Mallaig RNLI - there was no way a helicotper was going to get in with the downdrafts. It was so wild there were small waterspouts just around the corner in the Sound of Soay.
Spectacular location and the Cullin rigde right above you.

I would guess that the first one is the bay at the SW corner of Loch Lochy, looking over to Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis: not quite sure what it's called, Bunarkaig?
I agree with others re. the second one: Loch Scavaig. Had to think for a minute, though, because the highish viewpoint (100m up Sgurr na Stri?) makes the hillsides look much less steep than when seen from sea level.

Correct. Note the snow still present on Ben Nevis in late June. And as Boomerangben pointed out, the second is Loch Scavaig. This one reminded me of the importance of checking the datum used on the chart - failing to notice that the chart was OSGB1936 put my waypoint dangerously close to a rock in the approach to the loch.

It was so wild
Some years back, the downdrafts were so violent that they inverted a Dragonfly 800 trimaran, that was motoring out with NO sail up. The wind got under the tramp netting, lifted a float, and over she went.

No idea about the first. The second is just making me pine for a month off so I can sail there from Devon! I think Canna is more spectacular, and maybe less crowded? Happy days!
