Ratheon Radar

I have just reinstalled a pathfinder radar, was working on previous boat, but now i can not get past the 70 sec warm up screen ie warm up starts then system turns off. Anybody any ides what is wrong?

Dunno, but maybe the power cables aren't up to it. When the set has finished it's warm up and tries to draw whatever current it needs to start transmitting, the volt drop on weedy 12V/earth cables could make it shut down.

should the mains feed be direct from the battery , as i have linked into a panel switch?

As long as the feed from the battery to the switch is man enough and from the switch to the RADAR and the switch has the capacity to pass the required current. If the cable runs are long consider using 4mm or more cable. Remember also that the neg cable must be the same diameter as the pos.
