I better not fly mine when going past South Stoke then!

Humble apologies Ian. I really have no wish to offend. I just remember the days when C.A. members were those who had sailed the seven seas. If someone was a member there then they were in the same bracket as Robin Knox Johnson.
Then they had a recruitment drive after moving to Limehouse from St Kats offering a defaced blue as an inducement. Net result was tons of people joining just for the ensign. The bulk of new members hadn't even seen salt water let alone sailed it on a serious voyage.

I have to admit I joined (1) to get a blue ensign & (2) to borrow a book out of their library which I had been trying to find. Turned out their records said they had it, but they didn't.
Since joining, we have started to venture a little up the coast, do find that their magazine is interesting, so don't feel so much of a fraud now, though did at first.

Their Library is superb. Just prior to moving to Limehouse the sold two books to Cambridge University Library for circa £2 million. That's a lot of pennies today, 15(?) years ago it was a lot more.
