Now sometime you may post on here
To raise a laugh or shed a tear
Then you find there’s no response
It makes you feel a proper dunce
You try to stand out on the board
But find instead that you’re ignored
It’s not because you’re dull or thick
It’s cos you haven’t joined a clique

Now cliques they come in many forms
Friends who you moor with are the norm
or YBW forum will provide
A varied choice that you can try
It`s hard to know which is the best
Or what stands out above the rest
So have a look and take your pick
And then enjoy your chosen clique

The liveaboard clique unfurl
their flags in ports around the world…
They live the dream. Or so they say
and brave all weathers come what may
To find cheap mooring where they roam
And book cheap flights to get erm home
You want adventure?. with some strife?
go join their clique ..an live the life.

Down on the Thames there’s discontent
Poor service cos the money’s spent
You can`t moor up…. there is no hope
the space is full of narrow boat
Though some are OK.. that’s for sure
it`s just that they don’t want no more
and narrowboats must take some stick,
but that’s cos they`re not in the clique…

But then if you love all things wood
the classic clique you will find good
From Burnham Scows to fiddle rails
from things to do… to where to sail
Anything that’s old and worn
comes back to life and is reborn
Pictures set against the sky..
of amazing boats that never die.

The New Boat clique on here is where
It helps to be a millionaire
But if you’re not then never mind
just join the clique and you will find
that you can share the hopes and fears
of someone wet behind the ears….
Yes.. all the fun of buying a boat
and it doesn’t have to cost you nowt…

Now take that lot that’s from North Wales
they come along with many tales
They take the Swellies in their stride
And in their boats they take a pride…
They BBQ and never sleep
and save each other from the deep
They` scared of nothing, hail or fog
not even an exploding bog…

You say this clique stuff`s not for you
you`re on your own in what you do
And that this ditty is all wrong
and to a clique you don`t belong…
that’s what you think.?.well that’s just fine
But don`t forget the bottom line…….

If you like boats….. large or small..
you’re in the biggest clique of all…..
