Thanks, That's what led me to ask the question again. There don't seem to be many, if any, people that actually use them. If they are so good then why aren't they more popular?

To be honest its the question I never got an answer to, but, I will let you know in 18 months time if its new anodes or leg I need after I fit them in the next week or so.

I use them, but I'm based on the Thames with only about 5-6weeks a year in saltwater, they are an ideal compromise for fresh and saltwater use. Same set now since 2006 and they look good enough to last to next year as well, thats on 2 x 290DP's.

Or are they?
According to MGDuff (See the extract from their website in the thread referred to above) aluminium and zinc anodes will if left in fresh water for some time become covered with a crust of oxide which effectively seals the anode and stops it working even when returned to salt water.

Yes thats true, the same happens to Magnesium which are supposed to be for freshwater only. I've tried them all over the last 20 years, the new Ali' red spots are definately the best so far.
