Advertising on YBW
      #1918285 - 05/07/2008 06:21

Still trying to sell my boat, and I've now reduced the price to £40k so it's a bargain!

I've got her on ebay and boats and outboards, I've finally decided to stump up the £80 they say it costs to put her on YBW.

So you go through the ad thing and when you get to pay it costs £244. I know the £80 is without a photo in the mag, so remove the photo and it costs £1100!

So I try web only. £20 - hooray. But it says it won't appear on the web unless you select a magazine. Price back to £1100.

Reduce wording to "boat, nice, £40k" and the price goes down but I don't think that will do the trick. In the photo ads they truncate the web ad, but if you remove the photo the wording has to be the same it seems so you can't say "boat, nice, £40k further details on YBW.com" unless you pay the £244 for the photo.

Seems it's not only the searching that's been mucked up. I gave up - check out B&O if you want a bargain 31ft diesel flybridge!!

I've done that before so thought I'd get moaned at! This was a genuine frustration vent and appeal for advice rather than a sneaky free ad - honest!!

Polish every bit of the boat and then talk to Boatshed - it will sell - you may even get more for it.

I can't even find it on boats and outboards, knowing its there

Ignore the moaners and post the link. If you are still worried, put the link in your signature, or say "advice wanted on this advert", or similar.

It's here on Ebay.

Looks a great boat, especially with the upgraded engine.
