I want to put a wind speed/direction instrument on my Griffon but looking at the mast whilst its stepped I can't see anyway of getting the cable out of the bottom. The only existing cable going right to the mast-head is the VHF and I wondered about using that to pull a drain wire through and then pulling both the VHF and wind transducer back up, but the hole at the bottom of the mast appears only to be big enough for the VHF on it's own. The other option could be to drop it down and come out of a spare sheave as a temporary measure until I un-step the mast. Has anyone got experience of putting extra cables down the mast of a Griffon whilst its stepped.

if you have a Kemp/Selden mast, there should be a tape covered slot either side of the sail track at the top. I managed to get a new aerial cable down the one on our Duo. It will exit one side at the bottom.
