Where can this laughing deer be found? Dident realise us boaty folk look so funny in our sailing gear. And just to confuse, a pic of Campbeltown on fire, and it has not been doctored.

Yes, was it the teeth or the ears which gave it away Enjoyed icecream and strawberries with tea and shortcake in the comunity hall, thanks to the local Ladies. Btw, its a pity to see the village devided over the new pontoon, with even some of the lacal sailors against it, suppose cant please everyone all the time.

Have not been since early May, what is the situation with the pontoon....no real need for it I feel, never a problem just to row ashore and haul the dinghy up the beach........!!

Never met the proprioter but did feel the staff couldent give a s**t about the customers, chicken or ham salid was offered on the menu, I asked could I have a mixture of both and was looked at as if I had two heads, but must admit it was worth waiting for. As for the pontoon, it was handy for going ashore, but as you say not a must.

Lochranza Hotel is much better. One hand-pull beer and a friendly enough barman. The place looks freshly decorated as well. The food was quite good. This is after we hiked round to the Catacol which was disappointing. The guys building the pontoon were in the Lochranza, this was the day before it was available for use. Even they had doubts about how it would stand up to the swell, even with the leg removed in winter.

Don't worry about bar talk/gossip re durability of the Lochranza pontoon it was designed by respected marine civil engineering company and built by Varis. Comments in the pub are fun but not to be taken seriously. We have had acouple of proper NW gales since it was installed and no problem
