We have recently moved to Chichester Marina and are looking to have dinner at the Crown and Anchor at Dell Quay on Saturday.
Can anyone give us an indication of what to expect.
We have only got as far as eating at The Cider House, which we love, but would like a change
Many Thanks

Too late a reply for Saturday, but I found it OK if you dont mind a long wait when they are not very busy, and getting the order wrong. Just go during the daytime and soak up the view of Dell Quay from the garden.
The Manhood peninsula is a bit like that - The Ship@Itchenor has great fish & chips, and will tell you how long the wait is (and they do get busy on a weekend), but you get better service if you are a local.
If you can get into Chi there is a place called Trents which has a good reputation.
Or if you like fresh fish then try East Witt where Bob the Fish at the end of Shore Rd (on the beach), brings in a fresh catch if you get the timing right, but you have to take it home and cook it. Which will still be quicker than either pub on average.

Thanks Morbieater - we walked there from the Marina on Saturday evening (a good 1/2 hours walk). As you said it was a long wait for food but well worth it.
The mussels my husband had and my sea bass were great.
The staff were very apologetic about the wait - seems they had a large table of people outside that had clogged up the system and were giving a 45 minute wait for food to people ordering.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk back to the marina - made us feel very noble
Would definitely go again

Glad you enjoyed your meal.
Very impressed that a Mobo owner could do that walk.
You can also do the same in the opposite diection on footpaths to the pub at Itchenor, and if you get too trollied a few quid to the foot ferry gets you back as far as Westlands.

Another one you might like to try is the Blacksmith's Arms - a similar distance from the marina at Donnington. Excellent food (at a price), well kept ale and a very pretty pub.

You said it..."at a price"
We've eaten there several times, but the bill always seems to be "too much" for the meals served. It just isn't value, so we can't justify going there anymore.
It's always fun to pop to The Ship or Crown & Anchor (at H.W.) by tender.
