      #220006 - 10/05/2002 12:40

ybw.com and its associated websites will be unavailable on Saturday 11 May between the hours of 0900 to 2100 while essential maintenance is carried out.

Sites affected include:

http://www.yachting-world.com
http://www.yachtingmonthly.com
http://www.mbmclub.co.uk
http://www.mby.com
http://www.pbo.co.uk
http://www.classicboat.co.uk
http://www.sailpower.com
http://www.ibinews.com

Unfortunately this work is unavoidable and the ybw technical support team apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Whilst you are doing the maintenance, can you get rid of the threaded button. I am sure if anyone reads a posting, they want to also read the replies. If they find they are not interested, they can always click onto the next one or go back to the index.

It is quite a pain to have keep pressing the flat button for each reply you want to read. Yes I know you can set it in the preferences, but if you don't log in, it does not stay in flat mode.

Hopefully yours,
Mica (P.S. I like your new layout).

MICA

Thanks for the feedback Mica. We won't get rid of the threaded button because, without even asking I know there are those who use it and would miss it.

The answer to your request would be met simply by us setting the posts to view as flat by default instead of threaded (although they are obviously not organised as well that way).

Any thoughts, anyone?

I personally prefer 'flat' but just saying it will be enough to provoke a contrary response, I'm sure.
On a slightly different note, why cant I have the forum centred on my screen like before? I work at 1280 x 960 and it used to fit nicely down the centre. Now its permanantly down the left handside and i have to shift my vision - its giving me a neck-ache!

We're out of framesets now, to all intents and purposes and all of the sites had to sit either range left or centred, rather than the mix as was the case before. Given that most of the sites have a LH nav bar we thought range left was best. On Macs we are spolit in terms of closing down the browser to 800 and putting it where we like but I also monitor a PC and know what you mean.

Other comments out there?
