RYA RIB and Finn dinghy
      #412767 - 09/10/2003 09:44

RYA RIB 14, with Ed Greig's Finn on top, was stolen from Hayling
Island Sailing Club on 30th September at 0530.

It is a 5.1M Orange RYA Tornado. It is labelled "RYA 14" in a black
rubber stencil, on the stern of both tubes, which would not be easy to remove
without leaving a mark. It has a Yamaha 50HP Four Stroke on the back.

There is a tow post behind the seat. The leather on the seat has been ripped
and has duct tape sticking it back together.

The Finn sail number is GBR 593 and has 5 sails in the boat. It was strapped
on to the top of the RIB trailer.

We would be very grateful if you could keep your eyes open and pass
this message on to any relevant contacts.

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

Tessa Pelly

Games refers (I presume in fairly confident fashion) to Olympic Games. The interest? Because the Finn was a part of Team GBR and belonged to Ed Grieg...presume it was the one he sailed at the recent Cadiz Worlds see http://www.ybw.com/auto/newsdesk/20030824214334Sailpower.html

Not much chance of getting a medal when some tea leaf runs off with your boat.
