I've noticed that over the past 10 days or so, the "Forums" page is slow to load even on broadband. Once into a forum the speed is OK. This happens on two different computers. Am I the only one experiencing this?.

Yeah, but your miles away, so what do you expect! I've had it in the odd occasion but put it down to clunky dial up.

Hi Arthur, having loads of glitches with the forums including slow loading.
BTW have you heard about the latest murder in Wellington, man shot between the eyes whilst drinking in the Sanford Arms last week! Third shooting locally within the last year and second death.

Hi LJ - no, I had not heard about the shooting or other incidents. We were there briefly in Sep, but had no time to make contact w/you as we were on a flying visit

No further news at this time, save for the fact that peak times are hitting even higher now. It's hard to budget for a three-fold increase in traffic in one year, as pleasant as that achievement at first seems. We are aware of it, but stuck dealing with a series of other server issues at this time.
Apologies for the frustration...we will continue to monitor performance on a range of connections and do anything we can to optimise database and keep download overhead as low as possible pending some bigger changes. Would also ask users to be careful about the images they link to as the speed of remotely hosted servers for those images and the size of them will be having an impact too.
