About all this talk about the end of red diesel derogation in almost 3 years. There was nothing like this in the late 90's towards the date of the last review.
So what has changed this time? It seems to me that no-one has actually said the position will change in 2007, are we all worrying unnecessarily and could this campaign have the opposite affect to what is intended?
I like most others want the price of red diesel to remain as it is and am just a little worried that a campaign, so far in advance of this decision being made and seemingly without any indication that the decision will go against us, may be counter productive.

Nobody trusts the cronies to support us any more. Not that they ever did, they simply had more people believing them last time...

This had crossed my mind too, on more than one occasion. I guess that the RYA and other orgs such as the mags must know the position with regard to government stance better than we do. But I cant help wondering that if we keep our heads down maybe it'll all just go away??? The time period since the last derogation was supposed to have been for the government to have brought taxes up to the european levels, but since that has not happened, then I guess it's either been forgotton about or deliberately ignored. If the latter is true maybe HMG intends to apply for a further derogation, and maybe only a small VAT or manageable tax increase will ensue...

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or in this cse the needs of TB liar out weigh the needs of the whole country.

My sentiments. exactly. And why I've said nowt so far. Wot MP's knows about Boats and Red diesel could have been collectively put on a fag packet. We've now turned a totally unkown about quirk of sence. Into a well publisised debate with one certain outcome. Old motto. If in doubte, say nowt. Some dick heads made them that well aware of it now. They will dam well have to do some thing about it!! GGggrrrrr!!
