this is a one-off achieved by buying in excess of 4000 litres so the pump has to be restarted four times around, but the students on the pump can't do mental arithmetic and chage you for three times, hence 33% discount on top of the large volume 25% discount. Only found o0ut later after paying in cash...

Did they charge you full VAT @17.5%?

Also if they can't multiply could they count 680 pound coins? Or did you get away with 50 tenners.
