Assuming Karl can set them. . . .
Mine are 2 days ~ 1 week and Reversed Threaded
I'm too lazy to visit preferences every time I hit the RtI button.
Now I'm really off sailing!
Cheers, Andy

Hi Andy, hope you had a good sail. After a bit of fun with time outs on busy connections yesterday we reset prefs to reverse compressed in order to give everyone a chance of actually seeing something on slow modems. We also left the time period of a month in order to automatically drag in messages from the forums prior to suspension. We can change settings and would be pleased to hear views on this, although if we hit a majority concensus I might be inclined to eat one of many functional spec documents on my desk at the moment! I'll put the JPEG on ybw homepage if I do.
For the not too distant future we're looking at reintroducing cookies, to bring back 'new message since last visit' functionality and to store individual prefs. Cleaning up the code at the moment; we'll post messages regarding any developments.

One month reverse threaded please. It can be interesting to look back at older messages which have new responses, especially if one has been away for a while (cruising?).
You don't have to scroll to the bottom if you don't wish to.
It will be interesting to see who of the rather verbally sarcastic correspondents don't register or appear any more.

I would vote for a month, as time and tide etc do not allow me to make nightly visits. Besides which some of the 60+ postings go on for longer than a week, and one would loose the original question if the cut-off was only 7 days.

...most of us will be online again within a month of taking off sailing but one week is pushing it a bit. It would be sad to miss out on interesting stuff as a result of indulging in the very pastime that unites us!
