If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first?

Roger,

If the wind is as light as forecasted, we might not head for Burnham.... in which case, we'd definitely be up for it..... will confirm one way or the other by Thursday when forecast starts to firm up.....

We bought a tender last night, so the opportunities are opening up

Roger,

Further reviewing the forecast, it looks almost certain that we'll abandon our plans for Burnham.... it'll be against the tide, into the wind, at just 6kts.... not my idea of fun.....

So what sort of time do you need to get to Stone Point on a hot sunny day to find room to anchor?

Hi, I'm new to this site. Whereabouts is Stone Point? I'm based near Peterborough and am looking for somewhere to use our b/rider - salt or fresh, where you don't have to be a waterski qualified driver or similar. Any advise appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Howzit....

You need to fill in some of your profile to get much of a reasonable response....

Whats a b/rider? assuming its a fast powered craft, then Stone Points a no go for you.... Its 4 miles out of Harwich... its only accessible from the sea, and a good few miles from nearest launch point..... besides, its very busy on a weekend with anchored boats, in a narrow estuary and probably not space for what you would want.....

Can't help you with launch sites in the P'boro area thats don't need qualifications?.... other than can't you use Hunstanton?... what about Fen lakes or Tallington lakes? why don't you bite the bullet, and get the certificate?

For future, this isn't the best place for this type of post..... try Mobo forum instead... you'll get a better response....

Aaah, the pain of being new on a forum - and messing upin the wrong forum! Thanks NAS. I thought this was a general meet up type of forum for anyone, hence the post. I'll look at the mobo forum as suggested.

It is a powerboat and we do use Hunstanton - problem with Tallington is they insist on a BWSF certificate, then when you go elsewhere they don't accept it but want RYA Level 2 etc, so just a bit of a pain really.
Thanks again.

Would be great - need to find out what the kids are up to, but might get along too.
