Marin bicycle stolen
      #882970 - 22/11/2005 16:10

My Marin Larkspur bicycle was stolen from Shamrock Quay on Sunday 02 October 2005.

Its a rare ladies aluminium model (Ali coloured with blue forks) complete with mudguards and a rack. It may still be in the area so if you see one around please let me know and I'll go and investigate.

In the meantime I'll keep an eye out for Hilary Joyce, having just completed a refit on our boat I can understand the heartache involved.

Can't be exactly sure of the date, but it was about a month ago that a bike was stolen from our marina (next one downstream from you) - two hoodies - seen but too fast - sorry to say but yours probably gone the same way (over into the estate) - coppers reckoned they knew who it was but cctv too fuzzy with the hoods for positive i.d.

...... cheque, please.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to track down where all these bikes end up. I keep checking the local free ads, Ebay and cash converters. A top tip from a cycle shop was the University.
I suspect it is a lost cause but got to give it at least a go.

Take it that you reported it to the Police?

Even if you haven't, ask them who holds the local Police Auction - yours might end up there. I bought several decent bikes which were ex-police lost and found from an auction house in Wandsworth. They handled Police, Customs and Official Receiver stock

I know this is a late reply, however I remember while antifouling my boat next to the Shamrock Quay office a couple of yobs where trying to steal a bike behind me. I only realised when I heard a noise behind me and the Marina staff had caught one of them. The police turned up and so on - so it might be worth checking with police & marina office (probably stating the obvious).

This was a few years ago 2003 ish prehaps, but these yobs apparently do the circuit from hythe to shamrock etc.

Regards,
Richard.
