i had an autohelm 1000 i bought in about 1986 and dident like it at all perhaps i should have bought the 2000 i also had the wind vane.
Last year i bought a new 1000 with the key pad this one seems to work it keeps course and tacks quite well havent used it enought to say how reliable it is but so far its still working
The old one broke the elastic bands and sheared the pin fixing a plastic wheeel!
If you want an old one i suggest the 2000 and for a new one dont know?

Thanks Trouville. However, this is a completely different (and much simpler) bit of kit which allows you to leave the tiller for a few minutes (you could always lash it, I know). Have a look at www.tillerpilot.com and you will see what I mean.

I think you might be thinking of the Tillermate, which is in direct competition with my own Tiller-Hand.
