My boat has brackets on the swim platform, I have 2.6 rib and davit pads to fit, do I position the dinghy by the swim plaform, mark the position of the davit brakets on the rib and then glue on the pads. Is there some thing Ive forgotten?

sounds about right given that the davit arms are already fitted - yor options just got limited!

Re: fitting snap davits
I would first place the pads on the brackets, offer the dinghy to the platform and draw around the pad with a ball point pen. This would make it easier to abrade the surface of the dinghy and locate the pads accurately.

Allegedly a green biro will still show through adhesives giving you a better position reference than other colours, that disappear. Don't know why this is, nor even if it's true, but the "expert" that told me, did so with a straight face.
