Just looking for the facts than can be proven against thoses which which are just hearsay.
Maybe some people are just out to get GC1 now to justify their actions in getting him banned in the first place.

they weren't hearsay, they were in black and white for all to see. maybe if you had been around you'd have seen them?

Re: The victims Response to your comments
Wearesailing2, even though I take a different view to Haydn, he is not to my knowledge a liar.
The fact that there was an incident between GC1 and him is not disputed, but I suspect it escalated because there was no love lost between them.
Haydn has a specific, justifiable and personal reason for not wanting him back, but that doesn't mean I, or anyone else, has to have the same opinion.
But, I feel that the way this thread is going, we will all have to agree that GC1 should continue to be banned just because some people didn't get on with him and allowed the war of words to get out of control.
The entire argument is academic anyway as, I have said before, the ban is probably justified.
PS. I am going to get back to talking about boats as this is getting too like The Lounge.

Tried to send you a PM but found you are not accepting them. As a telecomms person myself, I would be interested to know what you mean by Cellular Added Value Services and Website provider.
Also note you have a 38m Sloop - that's a serious boat - who designed her?Taking me seriously is a big mistake. I certainly wouldn't. (Ani Difranco)

getting him banned
"getting him banned" - there is no such process. The moderators ban people. That's it. No votes, nothing. There were loads of votes, all had no effect.
I understand he broke forum rules, repeatdly, and was banned on several temp. and them on permanent basis.

Plonkers Of The World Unite!
Mmmn, are we to believe that you were present when the body parts were handed out or are you merely propagating the urban myth that is told to all probationers everywhere. Certainly it bears a stunning similarity to what I was told as a proby in The Met - only difference being that the event "happened" on the underground.
In any case, I'm not sure what the relevance is. The black humour shared between Police / Ambulance / Fire / Armed services is a well documented release following exposure to extremely harrowing circumstances - dont see what connection there can be between that and some plonker playing ill thought-out malicious practical jokes.
Interesting that the "victim" who started the thread has come out in support of the plonker.
What a terrific wheeze it would have been if, upon hearing that his boat had been burnt and sunk whilst he was driving, he could have immitated the sickening noise of a car crash with screeching wheels and smashing glass and (perhaps) people screaming in pain.......good ol' GC1 might have been led to believe that his little caper had caused a fatal car crash.......all in the best possible taste of course!

Re: Plonkers Of The World Unite!
The person I refer to in the rail incident was part of the same intake as me , the story was related during one of the probie de-briefs and the black humour helped him get through the trauma and carry on
and your suggestion for a response IS the way to deal with Pete and people like him , on here the best way is to ignore them because getting wound up is entertaining for others and doesn't help anyone
Now can we let this drop and get back to boating chat or do people still get wound up by the very mention of GC1 , personally I have never fallen out with him so I don't see what the problem is
