Hi,
A quick question, is there anything inside the heat exchangers on a V6 GM volvo penta eg. filter ?.
If not, is it worth taking them off to clean out or will flushing do?
Thanks in advance,
Dean

Re: heat exchangers
Dean,
their is nowt inside that needs servicing. As to cleaning them in situ it depends on when they were last done and the engines history. My 140A ones were really rancid inside and even the rad specialist I used said "god there was some **** in there!"
My boat has been on the Thames hence low speed and I also expect that hadn't been cleaned for ages.
I might add that the manual for mine states do it every year!
My suggestion is if in doubt do it.
PS find a small independant rad specialist not a biggie, minbe were tanked, pressure tested and blown out and cost £ 25 & £ 20 each, cash gov' of course.
