    Default Dingy Pad removal

My davit pad on my dingy has broken and I want to take it off and renew/testick it. Does anyone know how to remove the pad?

    I don't think it's possible - it's on for life.

I can only suggest that you put some new ones on the other side and turn the dinghy over.

You need heat and patience. I did this last year and after seeking professional advice the recomendation was to use a heat gun on the pad and slowly peel it away. The heat breaks the glue down, so start at one end and after a while you'll find the glue softening and you can peel the edge of the pad back, though you seed to apply a reasonable amount of force. It took me the best part of a couple of hours per pad. You need to be careful to keep the heat gun off the dinghy fabric and don't be tempted to use tools to lever the pad off. Heat and patience....
