Look at the way zinc prices have affected anodes. I reckon a 1kg anode should be around 50p more than last year. Actual price rise around a tenner?

Yes, scrap lead prices have more than doubled around here, and that was before the oil rise. Lots of energy in boatbuilding materials. Better buy an MAB quick. Though there could be some bargins in the Mobo area..........

Spoke to a keel maker, market price of lead went from £250/ton +premium to £2000/ton+p. Eased slightly, but must knock on to us.-A

For years now the prices of the things you want to spend your money on (boats, motorbikes, sportscars etc) have all gone up more than the Cost of Existing index or the RPI to be official. So thats not going to stop now that said index is beginning to really shoot up. But tbh, its not the price of useful things thats going up so much as the value of British dosh going down.
NuLabour for you. Next traditional steps are a run on the pound , reduction in public sector pay increases, lots of strikes and a visit to the IMF by the chancellor. Just like the chavs that elect them, a NuLabour govt spends on credit then gets itself into the mire when the bills start coming home .

Stacks of of good older boats around at reasonable prices, especially smaller ones, and there will be even more in due course, when depression kicks in.
