BUY IT !!!
make sure it is protected for the future, too many famous boats are lost forever and they need looking after.
Failing That, Let me know and I'll buy it and restore it !!!!

It isn't Donald Campbells boat is it?
I love it when I'm boating.
Everything in between is just 'waiting'.

Re: Race boat from early 60\'s
I doubt it, I think that's already being done up at the minute - was it called Bluebird or something?
"It's not that I think I'm better than you, it's just I'm a bit cleverer than you need to be to work here."
"Wolfie's got a BTEC."
"Exactly."

Didn't bits of Bluebird end up coming out of a tap in Birmingham?

Re: Race boat from early 60\'s
Poor old Donald was travelling at 300 mph!!! or thereabouts when Bluebird reared up to about 50ft in the air before smashing into the cold water of Lake Coniston.
Whilst the Salvage operation was going on in May 2001 human remains were found close to the wreckage.
The Barrow in Furness Coroner confirmed that DNA tests proved Cambell had been found.
Campbell now lies in 'Somewhere Warm' as His Daughter requested.
A permanent Headstone sits on the shore of Lake Coniston.
300 mph! what a speed on water and 40 odd Years ago too.
Phew!
Dunno if any bits filtered through to 'Burnigam' might have done.
Would explain some of B175Chris's Posts.
I think He's supped quite a bit of Brum water in the past!

Re: Race boat from early 60\'s
I was a very young child when it happened and I remember my mum crying when it came on tv. He was very much a national hero of his day.
I love it when I'm boating.
