Will there be large quantities of food. My stockpile of Fray Bentos is dwindling & ASDA haven't had a decent offer on months.

Pauline, this thread runs to 14 pages already! There's obviously sufficient interest to proceed so please open a specific Event column.

Also confirm the date plus berthing arrangements (cost?), dining arrangements (price?), request deposits (yes!) and start a new list.

What peeps wear is irrelevant if mooring, eating and drinking is chaos - you could lean on Scuttlebutt Cherbourg organisers for tips about what went wrong on the night.

I recall that The Waters Edge restaurant in the marina seats about 50 at most.

It doesn't happen in the restaurant, in a marquee, or in the second year, two marquees, one for the catering side. Dates, location are under discussion, this thread is just to judge interest. In the past we've had sponsorship which has kept the cost down. If things come together, we'll start a temporary forum, and make it known across the various forums

Cost will come down to final numbers and the amount of sponsorship.

Can't discuss too much about previous meets and berthing costs etc, as those were agreed with MD of MDL at the time, and it may be different this time.

Just to give you some idea. 40 boats and 160 people is probably the upper end. I've organised this a few times before, so know what I'm doing, and this is just about interest at the moment
