What is this cloud please? Never seen anything like it before or since.
Taken June 25th - Around lunchtime - perhaps 20 miles south of the Guadiana River - on a glorious day with light winds.

the rainbow bit is a parhelion , or "sun dog". Sunlight passing through ice crystals in e.g. cirro-stratus.
Normally seen on opposite sides of a circle with the sun in the middle.I think, therefore I am. I am, therefore I sail.

Thank you. It was really weird - one colourful cloud in an otherwise typical summer sky in these latitudes.
