Essex/Thames moorings or lack of !

Hello all
I was thinking about moving my boat down from the Norfolk Broads to near where I live in Westcliff on sea, I rang Southend borough council, foreshore dept. to enquire about a mooring at Two Tree Island, to be told there is a two year waiting list ! anyone know any other moorings in this area Southend/Westcliff or Leigh/Canvey Island area

PLA (Port of London Authoprity) have some swinging moorings towards Gravesend last time I checked (2 months back)

why not round the corner in the crouch? try burnham marina or moorings

Few years back I was at Essex marina, was about £1300 a year for a 21 footer, I think thats a bit steep ! I fancy exploring the Thames for a few years, I look out at it every day from my living room !!

You could try Benfleet Moorings, just up from Benfleet Station. £300 approx per year for a 21fter for a step on and off mooring. Downside is you can only get in and out about 1 hr either side of HW.
