    I don't know if that will help but before i run in to any such problems on my 2002 i built an additional pump after the water trap the type that you find on an outboard so that you can actually feel what you're doing and then added a return fuelhose back to the tank.The idea is that you can prime fuel in the engine and feel it and if you get air somewhere it will be returned to the fuel tank.Hope this helps as it has helped me after blocked primary filter change.

    Thumbs up Success!!

    Well, I'm pleased to report that it seems to have been the lift pump. I've fitted the new pump and immediately got a more promising bleed. She fired up and ran beautifully thereafter.
